The mini reunion went very well with 20 in attendance. Friendships and aquaintancies were renewed and it was a great night. Lots of ideas were forth- coming for the big 20th anniversary bash next September. We now have a plan of action which we'll publish all the details in due course.
We tried to stop him, but Declan treated us once again to his Cliff Richard impression - It doesn't improve with age. Lee was as quiet as ever and as usual he quarreled all the time with Boomer. It was also great to see people like Simon Bellini after all these years. Great guys every one.
Well done to Dave for arranging the night. The venue, bar and meal were perfect for the occassion.
It was a bit strange how everybody walked into the room and carried on the conversation from where they left off in 1990. The word 'teammates' is so appropriate. We sincerely hope we can get even more of the guys together in one year's time.
The date for the 20th Anniversary Dinner has been set for
Saturday 22nd September 2007.
The venue has yet to be decided and there were mixed feelings about whether it should be in Oldham or Manchester.
A team of volunteers is meeting in early November to consider the options, as soon as we have more details we'll post them on the web. We'll also be starting a newsletter to keep everybody up to date with how plans are progressing.
Everybody felt that it wouldn't be the same if the American Coaches from 87 are not there so we obviously need to give you guys in the US plenty of notice. We really hope you will come.
As somebody said on the night............"who knows, there might never be another 20th anniversary of the Bud Bowl !!"........profound words indeed.
